Why Should I Scrap My Car With Ace?
If you’re thinking, “why should I scrap my car with Ace”, here’s why.
Established in 1978, we have a dedicated team who are professionally trained and educated on the legal and environmental aspects of ATFs and ELVs. We make sure we offer the best possible service and have a ‘best price’ guarantee for end of life scrap cars, vans and HGVs and we’ll collect any car in Sheerness, no matter the condition. We’ll issue you with legal documentation (a Certificate of Destruction) and provide assistance with all of the DVLA paperwork if required. As you’d expect, Ace Car Breakers is Government and DVLA approved.
Can you pay me in cash?
Due to changes in legislation back in 2013, the law doesn’t allow any scrap metal company to pay you directly in cash for your scrap car in Sheerness. However, we can provide immediate payment in the form of a cheque or bank transfer instead, allowing you to draw out the cash shortly afterwards. If you find another company that’s offering you cash for your car, you should think twice before using them as all legitimate companies simply won’t do this.

In business since 1978
We started trading back in 1978 not far from Sheppey/Sheerness as a car and van scrapyard. Nowadays, we specialise in scrapping cars and vans but no longer sell car parts. However, we do still sell part-worn tyres and car batteries.
We’re not a scrap car agency and we’re not middlemen, you deal with us directly. As such, we’re able to pay the best price for your scrap car or van in Sheppey/Sheerness ME11 or ME12. Why not fill out the form at the top of the page and see for yourself?
Fascinating Sheerness facts
Prior to the 1500s, and due to its remote location, no one really lived at Sheerness. However, things started to change around that time with the building of a fort designed to protect the area from possible invasion. Later in the 1600s, Sheerness saw the building of Sheerness Dockyard, a place where ships could be repaired, which lasted right up until the 1960s. A century earlier, Sheerness also began to be regarded as a small holiday resort, with the building of a pier, a promenade and some local attractions.
As all Sheerness and Isle of Sheppey locals will be acutely aware, the SS Richard Montgomery, a WW2 cargo ship carrying a vast quantity of explosives, sank just off the coast of Sheerness and has never been recovered. As such, the explosives are still onboard and its though that if it exploded, it would be one of the largest non-nuclear explosions in history.
Sheerness was also the home of the first multi-storey building with a rigid metal frame. The trailblazing Sheerness Boat Store paved the way for the modern-day sky-scrapers we see all over the world.
